Coastal Calm & Adventure: My Pembrokeshire Escape.
For years, the Pembrokeshire coast has been my go-to sanctuary — a place where sea air meets soul food. I usually anchor myself in Saundersfoot or Tenby, two coastal gems that offer just the right balance of charm and calm. They’re traditional enough to feel timeless, yet refreshingly free from the over-commercialisation that often dulls a seaside escape.
What I love most? You’re never short of things to do — or not do, if that’s your vibe.
🌊 For the thrill-seekers:
Whether it’s paddleboarding across glassy waters, clambering through craggy cliffs on a coasteering adventure, or chasing the rush of a speedboat ride (with a chance dolphin cameo), Pembrokeshire delivers. Sea fishing, too, offers a slower kind of thrill — one that rewards patience with panoramic views.
🏰 For the curious:
History buffs can wander through ancient castles, while families will find joy in the wild wonders of Folly Farm — home to everything from farmyard favourites to exotic animals.
🕍 For the wanderers:
If time allows, make the pilgrimage to St David’s — the UK’s smallest city. It’s a place of quiet grandeur, where cathedral spires rise above winding lanes and artisan cafés.
🍽️ For the unwinders:
Prefer a slower pace? Sink your toes into Blue Flag beaches, sip something local, and savour a meal with a view. From rustic bites to refined plates, Pembrokeshire’s food scene is as satisfying as its sunsets.
